The Purbeck Rally, held on the outskirts of the Dorset town of Wareham between the 15th & 17th of August, has been going for many years now. A very friendly atmosphere with plenty of exhibits and autojumble with a bit of bric-a-brac thrown in for good measure. Saturday is auction day and Sunday’s a car boot sale. As I only visited on the Friday a lot of the exhibits were still to arrive. Lots of the people already onsite were making a long stay of the event, starting a day or so before the official start date and departing the rally a day or so later, making it part of their summer holiday. The rally is rounded off with a commercial vehicle road run ending at the rally.
