NEC classic motor show
14th November 2009

JJ and I travelled up to the NEC exhibition centre for the classic motor show. There were 5 halls dedicated to the show and we eventually managed to get to all of them. Lots to see, covering 2, 3 & 4 wheeled classic vehicles of every description. Most of the magazines associated with the vintage scene had stalls there, as did all the major clubs, including the NSRA & the Ace Cafe. The standard of workmanship was amazing, but among the gleaming concours examples were a few "barn finds", complete with straw, dust & grime. Also several crash damaged classics as well as bare rolling chassis & part finished restorations.
A bit disappointed with the show overall as I have seen more variety and better exhibits at smaller shows but there were a few gems to be found.
