Bristol classic bike show

9th - 10th February 2008

Held at the Royal Bath and West Showground on the 9th and 10th of February 2008, this event has gone from strength to strength since it left its previous venue in the dockland of Bristol. To me this is the first in the year of large events in the south of England, this venue caters for bad weather in as much as the five halls that it fills are linked with covered walkways, all disabled friendly. With over 60 clubs which range from the local chapter of the Harley Davidson owners group, (Hog), through to the London Douglas club, there was something for all tastes. With a top prize of 750 pounds up for grabs, competition is sure to be red hot, and last year’s winners, North Devon owners club, are sure to have a treat or two in store. Always one of the highlights and a stand not to miss, is the Norton owners club, who are regular top three finishers but missed out on the first three spots last time around. For 2008 they have promised a display of overhead camshaft models from the Bracebridge Street manufacturer, which should be second to none. Never far behind when it comes to a club competition at any show, the Malmsbury classic motorcycle club, who made runner up spot last time around and went away with 500 pounds, are sure to have a display not to be missed. The show this year has some thousand exibits to be marvelled at & drooled over. In all I found this show better than any of the previous ones and I still find entrance fee value for money.
