Bedford Cf Van

Mouse’s Bedford CF van

It was a beat up builders’ van full of sand and wood shavings when I bought it.
I ripped the insides out and put in “captain’s chairs”, (swiveling seats based on American boat fittings). They were complimented by a homemade dashboard.
I welded the back doors up and completely fitted the inside of the van out in deep buttoned red velour. I also installed heart shaped windows in the side of the van. They were a nightmare. It took me days to sort them out and get them right. “Lake pipes”, (side mounted exhausts), ran down either side of the body under full length running boards, all homemade. New wheels and a paint job finished my first build.click here to view larger image
From start to finish it took about 6 months.
The custom van craze was very big back in the late 70s/early 80s & mine was typical of the style. You don’t see many of these about these days!
