32 Roadster

I started out building a '32 Ford 3 window Coupe, in the usual configuration, Rover V8, Cortina independant suspension, etc. After too many years, & still not finished I got my finger out. Nearly on the road, I decided to strip it down again, as you do, & rebuild it how I always wanted it, so off came the Cortina front end, on went a drop tube, hairpins, & new Chevy brakes, wheels went, so from slot mags to American Racing, Rover out as well, in place, Chevy small block 350, bought from a fellow club member (ACME), then rebuilt after bringing the parts back from Las Vegas. Then move house, the Coupe body only went back on 4 days before we moved house, so on the back burner for another 8 months. All this time the wife, Karen, wanted a '32 Roadster, so after coming home from work one day, the conversation went something like this.
Me: I'm taking the Coupe body off the chassis again.
Karen: I'm not helping you this time, why?
Me: To build a Roadster.
Karen: OK (this answer taking 2 seconds)

So the Coupe body was sold, a Rodline Roadster body ordered at the NSRA Billing fun run. In the meantime, work on the chassis. Sprayed it again, next time I'll take the engine out first, new exhaust made, front spreader abr welded in place & the front frame horns boxed in. At the Supernationals, I picked up the windscreen, posts, Glide seat, steering column & numerous other parts. Finally the body arrived, after a few hours massaging the back end, it was bolted down, & then bits were made, frame work welded, door panels, kick panels made, Lokar shifter & handbrake fitted, (good old Ebay), Moon gauges fitted etc. After finding out my 3 piece hood was way off, these were sold off at the NSRA Southern Swapmeet, I bought a Walker rad, steel grill shell & 4 piece hood, looking even better, then I bought a Be-Bop top back from the States this year. s you can see from the pics, from the Coupe body going on, the chassis work, to how it looks today, it's much better. So on the road this year, or so the wife is telling me.
